CARDIF Collective is a unique and exciting shopping experience for your customers. It is a dedicated space for designers in fashion from Canberra and the surrounding region to showcase and offer their creations for sale.
To apply to rent retail space, simply complete the application form to tell us how much space you need, some information about the creations that you will be selling and your best contact details. We'll get back to you to discuss your specific needs.
We have a variety of display units to choose from. Our prices do vary and will very much depend on how you want to showcase your creations. As an indication, weekly display space rates are generally around $45 per metre. For example, if you need 1m of wall space (floor to ceiling) it will cost you $45 a week.
You can choose from:
wall racking and shelving
floor standing gondolas and hanging racks
open glass and wooden shelves
lockable glass shelves
The best way to work out what the cost of your space is to come in and talk to us about what you need.
As with anything, there a few rules:
retail space is available to rent by designers in fashion only. That includes clothing, jewelry or accessories.
you must be an independent designer who owns the intellectual property associated with your designs.
all items on display will be held by CARDIF Collective and sold on a consignment basis.
you must rent retail space for an initial 2 month period. After that, you can rent by the month. However, one month's notice is required to end your rental agreement.
rent must be paid one month in advance.
the cost of renting a retail space will be reviewed each 12 months and may rise.
you must agree to retain a minimum level of stock in CARDIF Collective.
to rent retail space, you must be an Member of CARDIF. Annual membership in CARDIF is $75.
your rent will cover all utilities, plus there will be a full time retail manager who will provide feedback on sales.
it will generally be at the discretion of the retail manager to determine the placement of your product. However, the retail manager may consult with you or you can feel free to discuss.
20% commission is payable on all sales and will be deducted before your sale proceeds are paid to you.
proceeds from your sales will be payable monthly and you will receive a full sales report.
There are also some fantastic benefits such as being in a spacious and central location, plenty of parking, a full time retail manager, free promotion through our facebook page, media releases and events and discounted access to our facilities.
CARDIF Collective will not accept applications from:
stores selling imported stock, seconds or stock they can't clear
sellers who sell second hand of "Private Label" products
sellers of products of child labour or other unethical activities.
